At Google, Alex ran large outsourced vendor operations across multiple business units. Before that, seven years in management consulting focused on outsourcing optimization and procurement strategy for global enterprises.

The pattern was always the same: consultants build the business case, procurement negotiates the deal, finance sets the budget - and then nobody tracks whether the savings actually showed up.
